Abstract:The culture experiments were taken to study the effect of crop root residues (CRR) on the soil fertility in chernozem. The results were shown as follow:After CRR were applied into the soil, the content of soil organic matter was increased, the quality of soil organic matter was improved, and the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of the soil also was raised, therefore, the soil fertility was improved. The correlation analysis showed that the interrelation between CEC and content of soil organic matter was significantly positive, the positive correlation between the added amount of CEC and the added amount of loosely combined humus also was significant. However, CEC had no significant correlation with stablely combined humus and tightly combined humus.
