Abstract:‘Jisha 15’(Official recognition No. Jirenyousha 2025004) is a new, widely adapted tigernut(Cyperus esculentus L.) cultivar developed by the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It was derived from tigernut germplasm accession 30GD2 introduced from Mali through 60Co γ-ray irradiation at a low dose rate of 3- 5 Gy/min, followed by successive pedigree selection.‘Jisha 15’exhibits vigorous growth, high yield, drought tolerance and strong tolerance to other environmental stresses. This paper systematically describes its breeding process, agronomic and biological characteristics, yield performance and recommended cultivation practices, thereby providing a scientific basis for the extension and application of this cultivar.
