Abstract:

Grain-forage dual-purpose silage maize can be used as whole-plant forage to meet the feed demand of rapidly developing animal husbandry. This type of maize is characterized by high biomass yield, good silage quality, high nutritional value, high grain yield and high economic returns, and it also helps reduce damage to the ecological environment and promote the balanced development of the dairy and livestock industries. This paper describes the main advantages of the new maize variety‘Dongdan 1331’as a grain-forage dual-purpose silage maize and summarizes its key planting techniques, with the aim of improving the yield and quality of silage maize.
