Abstract:Soybean seed coat cracking(SCC) not only reduces the appearance quality of seeds, leading to lower commercial quality, but also affects the seed germination rate and vigor, resulting in uneven seedling emergence and growth, and ultimately affecting yield and quality. However, this trait has not received sufficient attention, and relevant research remains limited. In this paper, a review was conducted on the research progress of SCC types, evaluation methods for soybean resistance to SCC, and QTL mapping. These findings are expected to provide references for improving the appearance quality of soybean seeds and breeding soybean varieties resistant to SCC.
