Abstract:In 2013 and 2014, using maize variety Nonghua 101 as material, 5 row space treatments(55, 65, 75, 40-90, 35-165 cm) were set to study the effect of different row spaces on soil water content. The results showed that the soil water content in different row spaces increased at first and then decreased with the soil depth, and more water was stored in soil layer of 30-80 cm. In the abundant rainfall year, the influence of row spaces on soil water content was not obvious. In normal rainfall year, effects of row spaces of 55, 65, 75 cm treatments were not obvious, but the difference of soil moisture was more obviously when the row space was greater. Compared to the highest water con.tent treatment, soil moisture content of the 35-165 cm row space treatment was lower by 4%. There was no obvious influence on the soil water content of the 40-90 cm row space treatment.
